Learning about the SDLC, Project Management, as well as Business System Analysis helped establish a healthy and valuable learning opportunity where I was engaged in a global strategic plan to implement an IT solution to help the company leverage financial and compliance objectives. As I will be approaching my graduation date and fulfilling a fulltime position, I am confident that the MIS department and my internship experience have given the skill set to confidently bring value to any team I work on.

I was granted a number of benefits being in the MIS program, but with the internship experience I was adding real value at a real company and there is no substitute for that. Taking this course in conjunction with a internship during your years at the Fox School is paramount to your future success, and is my number one recommendation for anyone currently enrolled in the MIS program at the Fox School of Business.

During my internship, many day to day activities covered topics that I studied in the classroom such as defining business requirements and understanding the software development life-cycle. While interning at Campbell’s Soup Company, I was able to apply my coursework to help solve real-world business problems. I also was able to get an inside look at how the IT department works with other units to make decisions that affect the whole company. After my internship, I had an enhanced understanding of IT topics, which will be vital to the transition into a full-time career.
