Student teams work on real problems submitted by Temple students, faculty, staff, and university units, or they propose their own. Over ten days, teams define a problem, design a solution, build a prototype, and present it to a panel of judges.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background: #eef4fa;border-left: 6px solid #025d9d;padding: 20px 25px;margin: 30px 0\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 5px;font-weight: bold;font-size: 20px\">Start with the problem, not the tool.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0\">The problem and the value of your solution come first. AI is an enabling tool. Strong teams understand who they are helping and why, and then decide where AI fits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Choosing a Problem<\/h2>\n<p>Pick a problem from the <a href=\"https:\/\/ibit.temple.edu\/aibuild\/problem-bank\/\">Problem Bank<\/a> or bring your own idea. Use them early and often.<\/p>\n<h2>Checkups<\/h2>\n<p>Checkups keep your team on track and give you feedback while there is still time to act on it. They are not scored. Share large files through a shared folder link.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Your slide deck must include the following slides.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Problem statement.<\/strong> What is the problem and why does it matter?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stakeholders.<\/strong> Who is affected, and who would use your solution?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Opportunity for AI.<\/strong> Why is AI a good fit for this problem?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Responsible design.<\/strong> Your team&#8217;s approach to accessibility, responsible AI, privacy, human oversight, and feasibility in your case.<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI use declaration.<\/strong> Every AI tool you used, which version, and for what purpose.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Use the rest of the deck to demonstrate your solution and describe a realistic path to implementation, including the budget, time commitment, and support it would need. You may also submit anything else that helps your demonstration, such as a prototype link, a short demo video, or a code repository.<\/p>\n<h2>Demo Day<\/h2>\n<p>Each team gives a 5 to 7 minute presentation, followed by questions from the judges. The final length depends on the number of teams and may change. At least one team member must attend and present. Ideally, the whole team presents together.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"judging\">Judging Criteria<\/h2>\n<p>A panel of <a href=\"https:\/\/ibit.temple.edu\/aibuild\/judges\/\">judges<\/a> from Temple and industry scores every presentation on seven criteria.
