The Process of Predicting with Big Data
Increasing accuracy realized with predictive analytics is one of the opportunities offered by the use of Big Data. Past applications have sought this goal through the use of forecasting and modeling techniques based upon sample sets of data. The difference afforded by using new techniques for mining intelligences from Big Data, is that we are no longer constrained to samples because of limitations on processing time and/or capacity. Today’s emerging and new technologies for big data analytics provide the ability to leverage entire sets of massive and complex data to significantly enhance the accuracy of predictive modeling.
To reap this value, requires discipline, planning, and processes. Predictive Analytics is both an art and a science but without a structured approach to its outcome, an organization will not realize its full potential.
This session provides an overview of proven guidelines for building effective predictive analytics against the richness to be found in the volume, velocity and variety of Big Data.
