Vince Ford has been appointed SVP, Digital Strategy & Innovation, Executive Director of the Performance Innovation Lab, and the Field-McFadden Chair in Digital Studies for the Curtis Institute of Music. In his role, Vince will be responsible for leading digital transformation across the conservatory. He begins at Curtis February 1, 2021.
Vince is currently VP of Digital Strategy & Customer Experience for the New York Philharmonic. During his time at the Philharmonic, the organization successfully pivoted its business online in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and became a model for the field through its use of technology, social media, and content to build robust digital communities. Prior to his tenure at the New York Philharmonic, Vince led digital media for Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and worked in various marketing and digital capacities at several software companies. Through his work, Vince has developed extensive experience in digital strategy, design thinking, user research, ecommerce, and all aspects of digital engagement.
Vince offers a broad perspective on the performing arts and is regularly engaged to speak about strategy and trends in the performing arts. He teaches the course “Digital Engagement in the Arts” at Columbia University. He has consulted with arts organizations of all sizes to develop successful digital strategies.
In 2019, Vince completed his Doctorate in Business at Temple University. His research explores the transformative effect of digital engagement on arts organizations. Vince has an MBA from Emory’s Goizueta Business School and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Georgia. He studied horn with Jean Martin and Richard Deane.
