Professional Training

Executive workshops bring advanced academic expertise to practice

IBIT professional training programs are one-day or half a day onsite executive workshops that bring advanced academic expertise to practice. The programs leverage the knowledge and skills of Temple University. All participants who successfully complete a workshop receive a certificate of recognition.

The programs are offered in small highly interactive modules limited to 15 participants at the clients location. The sites for prior workshops include NBCUniversal, Walmart, and QVC.

Topics

Systems thinking

Learn the basics of systems thinking including different forms of systems, use stakeholder analysis, problem identification, and contextual analysis, and rich pictures to envision organizational systems. Apply disruptive innovation theory and specific measurement techniques to identify opportunities for generating business value. Interactive workshop, appropriate for both junior and mid-level managers which works best when IT staff are mixed with participants from other functional areas.

Data Science for Managers

Data Science is the application of tools and techniques that turn raw data into insight. This workshop gives managers an overview of the tools and techniques of this emerging field. Participants are introduced to the principles of scientific inquiry and data visualization, with hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools, including Tableau and R, for descriptive analysis.

Social media strategy

Prepares you to develop an enterprise social media strategy. The approach links organizational strategy to business value goals by applying a mix of specific tactics such as: listen and brand, mine and decide, converse and share, and co-create and innovate. Discover common success factors and avoid pitfalls of internal and external implementations of social media. Appropriate for individuals in management, marketing, sales, R&D, knowledge management, and information systems.
