Grants
Seed grants of between $1,000 to $5,000 are available for research on digital innovation and transformation. Research that can practically impact organizations or society is highly preferred. Grant requests will be reviewed by IBIT/DIF affiliated faculty and industry partners.
Grants that produce impactful results, may receive the opportunity to work directly with IBIT/DIF partners, additional funding, data access, and assistance with publications such as The IBIT Report or Case study.
Grants are open to any Temple University faculty member. A grant application can include other faculty and doctoral students. The grant application must be submitted by the lead faculty member. If the grant is approved, the funds will normally only be awarded upon submission of a 1-page project completion report.

Digital Innovation Foundry (DIF)
The Digital Innovation Foundry (DIF) is an endowed lab that generates innovation by assessing, integrating, and prototyping digital technologies. The mission of DIF is to solve problems, build demonstrations, and generate solutions using digital tools as part of research or industry projects. Faculty or students can propose their own projects or work with us on projects proposed by industry partners.
The IBIT/DIF team will assist in architecting, prototyping, and evaluating the digital solution. Students and/or faculty involved in DIF projects can also receive grants and/or scholarships, as well as funding for direct costs (e.g., technology). DIF is available to any Temple University faculty member or student. See DIF for examples.

Digital innovation and transformation database
IBIT/DIF has access to a multi-year archival database that includes data on firm use of technology. We are interested in supporting research that focuses on how organizations are applying technology to innovate and/or transform their business.
We will help with querying and applying the database for accepted proposals. If you are interested, please send a brief one page or less proposal to ibit@temple.edu. The proposal can be combined with the grant program described above.
Fellows
The IBIT/DIF faculty fellow is an honorary appointment of two years awarded to selected full-time faculty at Temple University and at other institutions worldwide. The two-year renewable appointment includes engagement with IBIT/DIF partners, and the opportunity to participate in projects and apply for IBIT/DIF grants. Fellows can also receive travel funding for IBIT/DIF related activities. Fellows are typically appointed by invitation and/or after the successful completion of an IBIT/DIF project.
