INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI
Ben Hasan serves as Vice President of Corporate and Product Group Information Technology for Dell. Hasan directs the development, deployment, operation and support of the information systems supporting Human Resources, Facilities, Legal, Environmental Safety and Product Group, as well as support for the World Wide Financial Systems. In addition, he directs the global IT application development and support for the Product Group’s design centers in Shanghai, Taipei, Singapore, and Bangalore. Hasan also serves as executive sponsor for the Diversity efforts in Dell’s Information Technology organization.
Hasan has served as director of Shared Infrastructure Services at Dell, where he was responsible for Network Support, Global Messaging support, Data Center Operations, Server/Desktop support, Help Desk support and Intranet Services. Additionally, he has held responsibility as Director for Finance systems development and support.
Prior to joining Dell in 1997, Hasan worked for ENSERCH Corporation, an Oil and Gas Exploration company in Dallas, Texas. During his 14 years at ENSERCH, he worked in several areas including Information Technology, Human Resources, Rates and Regulatory Affairs, and Customer Service.
Hasan serves as the chairperson for the Strategic Planning Committee of the Information Technology Senior Management Forum, a group of Fortune 500 I/T senior executives. Hasan graduated from Amber University in Dallas, with a master’s degree in business administration and also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Temple University.
